The side effects of Truvia, have recently become the subject of much discussion. Some confusion exists due to certain factors. For a little background, Truvia and Stevia are made from the same natural herb. In fact, Truvia being a product of from the superior part of the Stevia plant called the rebiana, is considered the better of the two. Since Truvia and Stevia are from the same source, the side-effects of the two , at first glance, seem to be very similar. However, closer examination of the side-effects show differences, with a few warning flags about Truvia. The two products, Stevia and Truvia, seem quite dissimilar.
Truvia side effects go, seems to elicit a wide range in persons that generally seem to be more like allergic reactions than anything else. Symptoms of Truvia side effects seemed to range from itchiness to fatigue to nausea to increased sensitivity. This seems consistent with allergic reactions.

Gastrointestinal Truvia Side Effects
The most common of Truvia side effects are gastrointestinal in nature. This is due to the sugar alcohol erythritol than the rebiana extract. These compounds tend to have a laxative effect as they are not completely metabolized or absorbed by the digestive system. Common side effects include diarrhoea, bloating, gas, constipation and hard stools.

Neurological Side Effects
In some cases, Truvia side effects may cause headaches, dizziness and fatigue.

Allergic Reactions:
Like all foods, it is possible to experience an allergic reaction to ingredients present in Truvia. Since Stevia is an herb, if you are sensitive to plants like ragweed, the rebiana in Truvia side effects may trigger a reaction. You may experience breathing difficulty, dizziness, flushing, swelling of the face, eyes or tongue, weakness, wheezing and cramping of the abdomen, which are all common symptoms of an allergic reaction.
